Another active weekend! I took friday off so that I could meet Dad and Trevor in Boone for Trevor's ASU oreintation. I left Clarksville around 7 a.m. and arrived in Boone around 1:30 pm after a lovely mountainous drive. Once in Boone, we all went to Daniel Boone Inn for a late lunch which was delicious. I got my car inspected finally and spent the evening in downtown Boone visiting some of my favorite places and listening to live jazz bands playing in town. I spent the night at a family friend's house which boasted a great view, long porches, and rocking chairs. Saturday morning I left early to head back to Clarksville but stopped in Pigeon Ford where a friend and I saw signs for helicopter rides and we decided to be spontaneous. We pulled up, paid for a ride over the smoky mountains, and 10 minutes later we were being ushered into a helicopter. It was awesome! The helicopter taking off was surreal, it was up! up! up! and then wow the views were great. After the spontaneous helicopter ride, I headed back home and worked on my summer quilt. I had gotten a book about the adventures of this young girl who also quilts and it inspired me to get to work on it.
Sunday morning was not so fun. I woke up not feeling too well and I plan on taking it easy for the rest of the day. After a helicopter ride.. everything else seems slightly tame. I made sure to wait to tell my parents AFTER I rode in the helicopter.. otherwise they'd worried needlessly. When I did call to tell them... they were shocked and thankful I didn't tell them prior to the event. :) I know my parents well.

Me after the helicopter ride. You can't tell but I'm still shaking with adrenaline.

Found Gas in a small TN mountain town for only $2.35. They also had kayaks for sale at the wal mart... I was soo tempted.

My pepper plants are growing beautifully!
