Tendonitis

This past week I bought some new athletic shoes. Big mistake. I now seriously regret it. On Saturday (a bright and sunny summer day) I decided to go out to Port Royal again and walk that 6 mile hike that I walked previously. I walked the six miles in one hour and 20 minutes... didn't push myself too hard but I was moving pretty quick. After a couple 9 miles days, 6 miles on a flat surface doesn't feel too rough. After my walk I went down the river and read my book until it got too hot to be comfortable. Later on Saturday night I go to bed and both my feet are in tremendous pain, cramping and having charleyhorses. So I searched all over my apartment for some food that had potassium in it and find nothing. I drove to wal mart at midnight to buy some bananas and forced down 3 bananas and a liter of water to help my feet. It took me awhile to fall asleep with the pain. The next morning I was feeling better and drove out to Nashville to pick up my friend Laura to drive out to explore Fall Creek Falls State Park. It was a long drive, but the scenery was great. We checked out the three falls at the park and swam in the ice cold water at the bottom of Cane Creek falls. Here are some pictures of the falls:

When I got home my feet were killing me, shooting pains went from my heel to my big toe. I had to keep pressure on the arch of my foot otherwise it would be painful. I actually slept with my flip flops on because it felt better than being barefoot. When I got to work today my co workers and I figured out (thanks web MD!) that I don't have a pinched nerve or plantar facitius - I have tendonitis in my feet and need to stay off them and take IB Profin. Its going to be hard for me to take it easy when the weather is like this - but luckily I will be going home this weekend for Trevor's graduation from high school so I should be taking it easy!
