Really Big Rainbow

This week started out really rough for several reasons, but it's ended with some really bad storms and a fantastically huge rainbow outside my apartment. My boss put in her resignation this week, so I now will be expecting a new supervisor in the upcoming months. The Graduate assistant who was supposed to be helping me run the hispanic cultural center has decided not to take the position in the fall. Its been crazy. Lots of unexpected changes... but I do as I do and have been rolling with the unexpected, since there's really not much else I can do. Everything seems to happen all at the same time for me. Everything is fine, then BOOM, big storm of changes, but it will settle again... here is to hoping anyway!
We got a new co worker this week who has been a life saver. She went to graduate school at NC State, but I won't hold that against her. I've been showing her around town and we've been establishing fun things to do during the week. I got to ride my "new" road bike for the first time on Friday and it was quite an experience. I think I need new spokes, because when I am coasting down a big hill, the bike kind of bounces and I feel like I'm going to go flying over the handle bars. But it feels really funny, so I just laughed the entire time at myself. I explored around Port Royal a little more than I usually do and discovered a canoeing outfitter by the red river, so at some point I'm going to grab some people to go with me down the river I see so much of these days.
On sunday I went climbing for the first time with a friend in town. I had never climbed outside on actual rock before and I was kinda nervous about it. It was awesome!!!! I made it up my first route and sat there amazed at myself. I was by no means a fantastic climber, but I made it and it felt fantastic. We tried a second route, my arms were useless after the first route, and it was a million times harder for me. I made it up, but barely, and hope to give it another shot soon.
In one week I will be heading out to Seattle to visit Mia and Dianne! Dianne and I have some big plans of hiking in Olympic National Forest, Kayaking in the Puget Sound, mountain biking on the island, and then exploring Seattle and seeing the ORIGINAL REI store. I couldn't be more excited - definitely my kind of a vacation. Mom and Dad are worried I won't want to come back from WA and I'll move out there.
In fact, Mom, Dad, Trevor, and Sarah are all in Spain this for two weeks - so I don't feel bad for them one minute missing out on Seattle.
Here is to this upcoming week taking a much better start than the previous one!! Keep moving forward!
