No Oven

I apologize for not updating my blog in the past week, I've been down with a stomach flu that has been going around the office. Last Saturday was Valentine's Day and as Scott was making breakfast, the thermometer in the oven exploded! The oven started smoking and making noises! We called the maintenance guy who came by to take a look at the oven but he needed to order a new thermometer. On Sunday I was not feeling all that well and on Monday morning I was so sick that I had couldn't go to work. My whole office has been passing around the stomach flu, I guess this week was just my time.
The weather here has been unfortunately unpredictable, for example: on Tuesday it was 65, and today it snowed all day. Its driving me crazy. With the oven on the fritz I was unable to use the Amish Friendship bread starter that was given to me, so now I have like 5 starters of this Amish Bread. Luckily, the maintenance man came today and fixed the oven so in three days I will get to make about 4 loaves of this bread.
Tonight Scott and I made homemade pizzas (because we have the oven again), and they were delicious. I made a pineapple pizza and Scott topped his off with a boring pepperoni. It is so nice to have the use of all of your kitchen appliances!
This upcoming week is going to be hectic, I have the big Dance Marathon for the Children's Miracle Network on Friday. I am advising the student group who has been fundraising and planning this event for the past year. We have bands coming in, a DJ from Nashville, donated food, games, events, and more for the 11 hour marathon. Its a lot. While I'll be preparing for the Dance Marathon, Scott will be driving down to Texas for 2 job interviews. It will be a busy week and hopefully neither of us will get sick with this crazy weather!

Glad you are back online, feeling better and especially cooking on all appliances. For those of us who live vicariously thru you, we've missed your daily blogs. We're in SP this weekend, saw Emily, Patrick & baby Tucker and will eat lunch today at your parents with everybody. Keep those updates acomin'! Good luck to Scott on his interviews!
