Whew! What a week. It snowed, it iced, I turned 24, and my parents and Trevor came to visit for the weekend. I was very very excited about having Trevor come visit me because he hadn't seen my new place yet - and I hadn't seen him in almost a month. My family went to Fancy Gap on Thursday night (3 hr drive) and Trevor got to skip school on Friday so that they could drive out to Clarksville (6 1/2 hrs). They got here at 3 pm, but I had to work til 4:30 pm, so they waited around with Scott in the apartment until I got home. It was very exciting to come home to a full house on Friday afternoon.
Our first priority was to get materasses for the bed in my guest room since due to the bad ice storm in Kentucky (only 8 miles from me, and with no electricity) the hotels were full of Kentucky residents trying to stay warm. We headed out to Sam's club and got materasses, and then tied them to the top of my Subaru and went down the interstate going around 35 miles an hour. Trevor and Dad had to stick their arms out of the windows to keep a hold on them. Regardless... they slept on their own bed in the guest room Friday night. The guest bedroom is pretty much Scott's room. He got to decorate it and he made it very "Americana". The quilt on the wall is the first quilt that I ever made, and it was a present for his birthday. For dinner we had pizzas and birthday cake.
Saturday morning we had a huge breakfast of pancakes, fruit, sausages, and fresh squeezed orange juice (thanks to Scott). We drove around Clarksville to show Trevor the town, where I worked, and local white castle burger joint that he loves so much in the movies. We spent the afternoon in Nashville to go shopping and then Broadway where all of the Honky Tonks are. We walked up and down the main street and saw all the famous country bars. For lunch we went to the Macaroni Grille where I got to use a gift card given to me by my Aunt Diane for Christmas/ graduation (it was very yummy).
Saturday night we went out to eat at the "best mexican restaurant" in Clarksville, sadly it was very lacking. I don't know what I will do without a good mexican restaurant in town!!!! We watched the movie Wall-e from Pixar and thought it was very cute. (EARLY) Sunday morning my family left to go back home for the 10 hour drive. Scott and I went to Nashville to watch the Superbowl with my college buddy, Laura, and her roommates. It was a pretty exciting game and the half show was great for those of us who are fans of "the boss". Scott took a picture of me writing this blog and insisted that I post it... so I did.
Hopefully this week has better week than last week, I sure am looking forward to summer!
Alexandra
