Grand Opening

Since November I have been working with two graduate students to create a campus food pantry for APSU. This is a rather new and innovative idea for college campuses and they are just starting to pop up across the country. Our campus food pantry is the first in TN so we are kinda big deal. I found space for the food pantry and then had shelving put in earlier this month, and then put out a call for donations from the campus community - we have received over 1,000 donations already! We have even received some rather large monetary donations. Jasin was a big help as his Polar Plunge program (student jump into the pool in Jan fully clothed) brought in lots of donations! Yesterday was our big grande opening and we had lots of students, faculty, staff and media here to celebrate. I was even on the news! Brianna's Greek students are hosting a food drive as well so we will be overflowing with donations shortly.
