Jasin and I started our big wedding adventure on Friday! We took the day off of work and headed first to Nashville for our dancing lessons at Fred Astair! It was an hour long session, and despite Jasin dreading it, we had fun! We learned to ballroom dance, fox trot, and waltz! After our dance lessons we went to REI (of course) and then to Borders for their big going out of business sale (of course), more money was spent than was intended (of course). We got the airport and I discovered what a pain it is to carry on a wedding dress - they have no where to hang things any more on southwest flights, so my dress was stuffed into an overhead compartment.. and then again when we made our connection flight to Denver. We arrived super late (midnight) in Seattle and then had to find the hotel shuttles and get to our hotel (with the wedding dress mind you!) I passed out immeaditaley once we went to bed, and in the morning Jasin went to get our rental car - a burnt orange jeep compass which turned out to be a GREAT car. We then drove around the side of Tacoma to get to Bainbridge instead of taking the Seattle ferry. It was a longer drive but we had not been over on that side before and it was very pretty. We crossed the Tacoma Narrows bridge - which I had seen the video for before, but Jasin immediately knew what it was and was sooo excited about it!
watch this
crazy video of the Tacoma Narrows bridge when first built - in 1940
and now:
We stopped by a trader Joes on the way to get some wine for the wedding/rehearsal dinner and some other yummy treats that only Joe's carries!
We finally made it to Bainbridge and to Dianne's house for lunch. We drove to some state parks to scout out some photo opportunities for the wedding. We went to Fort Ward and then to Fay Bainbridge State park, saw some very pretty beaches! I took a nap on the driftwood at Fay Bainbridge and Jasin watched some crazy Canadians jump in the icy water.

On sunday we did some wedding shopping in Silverdale at the blessed Micheals craft store ;) Mia came with us and we got a little silly in the craft area:) After our shopping trip we were able to move into our rental house - which was the most perfect relaxing house ever! Such a cute water front bungalow in Pacific Northwest style. The hammock on the porch, apple tree and grape vines growing on the house, and the pretty views were worth every penny!
