SNOW

It is official, winter is here. Christmas may be white in TN this year! This weekend we got a nice icy blast of artic weather. Jasin and I spent Saturday baking several dozen sugar cookies which included cookie cutters, icing, and sprinkles. Kelty REALLY wanted a cookie as the whole apartment smelled like delicious sugar and icing. Brianna also made over 1000 Christmas doggie treats for our friends. We were exhausted from all that baking in our tiny kitchen.
On sunday we woke up to snow falling at 6 am. You might ask why did we wake up at 6 am on a sunday morning? KELTY loves snow. She was jumping up and down and barking at the snow falling. We took her outside and she ran around like a crazy beast trying to catch snow flakes. At noon we had scheduled to take my secretary's 8 year old son to an attraction in Nashville at the Gaylord Opry hotel. The attraction was called SNOW and it featured a huge snow hill with a snow maze, snow ball throwing range, snow igloos, reindeer, and hot chocolate. It was funny that we were going to see this snow (which doesn't normally happen in TN in Dec) and here it was snowing away. We picked up Austin and spent an hour out in the snow and then went to Cracker Barrel for some hot chocolate and pancakes to warm up.
Unfortunately the snow had continued to fall heavy all day and the drive back to Clarksville was slick and we had to go 35 mph the whole way (it took us 1 hr and 30 min to go 30 miles). We made it home safe thanks to Jasin's Ohio snow experience. All night long we crossed our fingers that there would be no school on Monday and we wouldn't have to go to work - BOOO! 2 hour delay is just a teaser of what it would be like to have the day off.
