Washington!!!

I would like to announce to everyone that I will... in the next year... hopefully.. moving to Washington or Oregon. I've been drawn to that part of the country for awhile now and after my week in Seattle... I'm determined! I had an absolutely fabulous vacation with Dianne, Mia, and David! Here is a brief synaposis and pictures of my time out there:

I arrived on Saturday and we took the ferry out to Bainbridge and had some yummy greek pizza for dinner. I was blown away by the views! Ocean and mountains side by side... an outdoorsy person couldn't ask for more!

Sunday we headed to Olympic National Park and hiked (we think) Mt. Angeles to hurricane ridge. In total it was over 7 miles and Mia was a rock star with hiking. She wants to be a mountain climber now! We saw beautiful vistas, mountains, ocean, wildflowers and a Mountain Goat! It was huge and looked from behind like a polar bear. It made everyone on the trail a little more than nervous. We stopped in Port Angeles (Twilight fans!) and grabbed some lunch.

Monday Mia had softball camp so Dianne and I got active and went for a fantastic bike ride on some trails in the woods and then along the Puget sound. It was so wonderful and gorgeous scenery.

Tuesday we went into Seattle to check out the city - which I describe as shiny and perfect. It was very clean and walkable as well as full of fun things to do. We checked out Pikes Market and the farmers markets. We spent about an hour in  used book store and then found a yummy Russian bakery for some treats. The highlight though was the Original REI store visit. I think my jaw dropped from the moment I saw it to the moment we left. I bought some great pink Chacos and Dianne got some chaco flip flops which she loved.

Wednesday Dianne and I went to Pilates class at her gym and worked our core and abs. Then we went for a hike along the water and into some old growth forest trails. And to top it off, Mia and I went kayaking.  It really doesn't get any better!

Thursday was a sad day as I caught the 4 45 am ferry to head back to TN. :(

I'm keeping an eye out for some job openings out there!
