A place to call home

We are buying a house?! Tomorrow! We have been looking off and on at homes in Clarksville since this past spring. We know we did not want a home in a subdivision, and we did not want a newer home, we wanted something with character and charm. After several failed attempts with other houses, a house we had looked at (but was out of our price range)dropped in price by $25,000. We took the leap! The situation has been unusual because the owner is currently deployed in Afghanistan and going through divorce. Thank goodness we have an amazing Realtor! We had to close on the house within 2.5 weeks, so it has all been very rushed & stressful. We will become landlords as well! Brianna & Bodie will once again be living with us! The house is so close to work (we can walk)and it has a fenced in backyard (for the dogs), and we have plenty of space! We get to collect some extra money from Brianna's rent to help with some renovations to the house. Everyone is happy! A little bit about the house: it is 112 years old! We will be the third owners of this home, the original owners owned it for 111 years! It has a 3 yeard old roof, furnace, and updated plumbing. I feel as though this blog will soon turn into the This Old House blog as we slowly update the home. We nicknamed it "The Wills Mansion/ Wills Abbey" in honor of Downton Abbey (BBC tv show)as we feel the house is massive and meets the same time frame. More tomorrow!
